Evaluacija

The evaluation procedure includes the following components:

Internal evaluation
  • Process evaluation (throughout the project): aims to evaluate the progress and monitor the on time execution of the project’s activities; corrective actions will be designed and undertaken whenever a deviation from the work plan or timeline is observed
  • Expert Evaluation of the Master GEAR Package: aims to evaluate the completeness, appropriateness and quality of the Master Package and proceed to modifications, if needed; this will be conducted by IPV experts from the whole EU area
  • Evaluation of the Teacher’s Manual and Students’ Handouts: aims to test the face validity of the produced material in order to proceed to material modification, if needed; this will be conducted in each partner country via focus groups with teachers and students.
  • Evaluation of the Teachers’ Seminar: aims to test the teachers’ training effectiveness as regards to the modification of their initially held knowledge, attitudes and self-reported behavior regarding gender inequality and IPV issues through pre- and post- training questionnaires; seminar’s procedures evaluation and identification of potential facilitators/barriers for future implementation will also be performed through the post-questionnaire.
  • Evaluation of the GEAR Workshops: aims to test the effectiveness of GEAR Workshops in classes as regards to the modification of students’ initially held knowledge, attitudes and self-reported behavior regarding gender inequality; this kind of evaluation will be conducted through pre- post- and follow-up questionnaires that will be filled in by both the group of students that participated in the GEAR workshops and the Control Group of students. The teachers implementing Workshops will also contribute to their evaluation by filling in post- and follow-up questionnaires. The GEAR’s implementation procedures’ evaluation and identification of potential facilitators/barriers for future implementation will also be performed through the post-questionnaires of both teachers and students.

Independent External evaluation

The GEAR project will also be externally evaluated regarding both outcomes and its multi-component internal evaluation. The External evaluator will be Professor Carol Hagemann-White, full professor of gender studies and educational theory at the University of Osnabrück, Germany.
