Coordinator


Coordinator of the GEAR against IPV project is the European Anti-Violence Network (EAVN).


The European Anti-Violence Network (EAVN), is a non-profit, non-governmental organization, founded in November 2006, with its headquarters based in Athens, Greece (Reg. No in the Greek Court of the First Instance: 16315/31-10-2006). EAVN is a certified organization by the Ministry of Health and Social Solidarity.
 
The Network’s activities include the design and implementation of research, educational or other scientific activities aimed at primary, secondary or tertiary prevention of violence by means of the investigation of and/or confronting of social or other factors that are directly or indirectly related to violence phenomenon and especially domestic violence. More specifically, the Network carries out its mission through activities such as:
  • Networking organizations combating violence
  • Referral of victims of domestic violence to support services
  • Designing and conducting research
  • Developing educational and sensitisation material
  • Designing, implementing and evaluating informational and awareness raising activities
  • Designing and implementing interventions
  • Evaluating interventions
  • Conducting Educational Workshops addressed to:
 o Health and Mental Health Care Professionals
 o Social Scientists and Social Workers
 o Educators and Special Education Teachers
 o Public Order Officials
 o Judicial and Legal Professionals
  • Collaboration with European organizations for the implementation of programs, educational and other relevant activities
  • Exerting political pressure
